ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Manager/Director of Business Operations and Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and achieve the organization's goals. This role involves working closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that day-to-day operations align with the company's overall strategic vision. We are creating a new category, so this role is expected to evolve/change over time as we learn more. 


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with the executive team to define the company's long-term goals and strategic initiatives.

  • Develop and refine business strategies to enhance competitiveness and drive growth.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.

  • Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the daily operations of various departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Implement best practices, process improvements, and workflow optimizations.

  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success.

  • Identify and address operational bottlenecks and challenges.

Financial Management:

  • Work with finance teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models.

  • Monitor financial performance against targets and make recommendations for adjustments.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-control measures.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives.

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and development opportunities for team members.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Project Management:

  • Lead and oversee strategic projects and initiatives from inception to completion.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

  • Mitigate risks and resolve issues as they arise.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate strategic objectives and progress to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Foster relationships with partners, vendors, and clients to support business objectives.

  • Act as a liaison between different departments to ensure alignment.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU A STRONG FIT FOR THE ROLE?

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Proven experience in business strategy, operations management, and leadership roles.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.

  • Familiarity with industry-specific trends and regulations.

  • Project management experience and relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) may be advantageous.

 

The Director of Business Operations and Strategy plays a critical role in shaping the direction and success of the organization by combining strategic thinking with effective operational management. This role requires a deep understanding of the company's industry and a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth and improvement.

 

Additional Information:

 

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across California.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

 

California: Salary range is $130,000 - $180,000
