What you will be doing:

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for developing the ideal data environment for the organization and producing data sets and analyses that will enable leadership to implement informed strategic decisions. Working cross-departmentally, they will be responsible for building complex data sets, producing impactful reports/dashboards, and consulting on business problems and/or solutions. The role will be within our data analytics team and report to the Head of Finance. 



About the role (You will…):


  • Become Airvet’s expert and leader in all things related to data - business intelligence, product analytics, success metrics, data modeling, and data infrastructure.

  • Proactively identify and share business insights with internal customers to help them make informed strategic decisions.

  • Partner with leaders across multiple departments (e.g., finance, sales & marketing, vet operations, product, engineering) to design, create and operationalize data models and dashboards.

  • Own company-level dashboards to centralize top-level business metrics, OKRs, and supporting KPIs.

  • Participate in impromptu data analyses and field one-off data requests related to business development and enterprise sales efforts as needed.

  • Develop and maintain all back-end data sets that will serve as the “source of truth” in creating data sets and company-wide BI tools. 

  • Continuously improve existing data visualizations and dashboards using Looker and Amplitude.

  • Educate and train co-workers on how to conduct quantitative analysis to further Airvet’s data-informed culture. 

  • Produce and maintain internal documentation related to data governance and data infrastructure.


Skills & Experience:


Experience (You have…):

  • 5+ years of experience with applied business analytics and large data sets

  • Bachelor’s degree, STEM background preferred

  • Experience presenting analysis in front of executives and senior management

  • Has architected data models and data stores at an early-stage company or a rapidly growing business. 


Hard Skills (You have…):

  • Expert-level proficiency in Data Visualization tools such as Looker and Tableau

  • Significant experience using product analytics such as Amplitude and MixPanel

  • Proficiency in Python (or R), SQL, and Excel is expected

  • Familiarity with Data Infrastructure

  • Preferred experience with Apache Airflow, Amazon Redshift SQL and/or Postgres SQL

  • Nice to have experience with Braze, Salesforce/Hubspot CRM, Branch, and Stripe


Soft skills (You can…): 

  • Can derive insights from unstructured data and explain them clearly and concisely

  • Demonstrates ability to work alongside co-workers at all levels

  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, start-up work environment

  • Can manage own time efficiently and effectively by determining priorities and setting deadlines

Additional Information:


The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across California and Colorado. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.


California: Salary range is $130,000 - $150,000
