About the Role:
We are looking to hire Certified veterinary technicians (“vet techs”) to service our new product offering: the Emergency Fund (“Fund”). Airvet vet techs will help triage life or death emergencies via video chat conversations with the pet parent in real-time. They will work with Veterinarians to provide support to all pet parents and act as a friendly and helpful agent of Airvet to our members.
Total Positions Available: 7-10
We will be interviewing on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Monitor web portal and stay available to answer emergency requests promptly.
Follow Airvet’s Standard Operating Procedures to handle pet parents needs
Triage Incoming Emergency requests via pet parent video calls
Assess cases for fund eligibility based on company policies and guidelines
Complete follow up for cases including but not limited to:
Case tracking and administrative duties
Work with animal hospitals to pay for covered services
Work with pet parents to provide guidance to fund covered services
Share shift information (rounding) information with the next shift
Complete invoices for time worked and submit in a timely manner
Other duties as assigned
WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU A STRONG FIT FOR THE ROLE?
Veterinary Technician, Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT)
Licensed in the US and/or Canada
Provide their own computer and mobile smartphone
Must have reliable internet access
Comfortable assessing basic dog & cat injuries, illness, and accidents via video.
Ability to accurately assess and communicate the level of emergency to the pet parent and provide support & guidance
Approve or deny utilization of the Emergency Fund based on a specific set of criteria
Follow training and instructions carefully and explicitly as it relates to the payment of funds to the veterinary facility
Very proficient with computer desktop and mobile applications
PRIORITY FOR VET TECHS WILLING TO WORK NIGHT + DAY SHIFTS
OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS
This is a fully-remote, 1099 position.
You will be expected to sit in front of a computer with video capabilities for extended periods of time.
Shifts will be 8.25-hours at a time
Must work a minimum of 3 shifts per week (24.75 hours)
Must not work more than 40 hours per week (max 4 shifts per week)
Commit to a full month of shifts at a time
Compensation: $25/hour (day) - $40/hour (night shift)
