SUMMARY: The Import Logistics Manager will coordinate and be the main point of contact for all inbound freight, while providing exceptional customer service within the Supply Chain department.    

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·         Ensure providing proper and timely movement of freight and related information, while providing an exceptional customer service within the Import department and Distribution Centers

·         Experience with Importer Security Filing (I.S.F) when required

·         Manage daily reporting such as the Container Status Report; analyze data to determine trends and KSI performance; present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders

·         Validate information on carrier websites and must be able to communicate on multiple levels across departments

·         Coordinate the release of goods from customs, carriers, and government agencies by providing them with information that they require to process items when required

·         Build and strengthen relationships with suppliers to achieve better pricing and quality of services

·         Provide early identification of problem shipments and communicate/resolve with stakeholders and coordinate/implement solutions

·         Review yearly contracts with carriers and send proposals to senior leadership for their final decisions

·         Negotiating freight rates with transportation providers, targeting cost reduction, freight savings and service

·         Maintain knowledge of KSI services and products, and assumes other duties as assigned by leadership

·         Oversee seized inventory and determine to keep or discard; suggest appropriate actions to the leadership team and coordinate accordingly

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Schedule all inbound foreign and domestic freight and daily review of container ETA information provided by the Import Specialist

·         Direct communication with Purchasing Team to ensure tracking for domestic freights

·         Manage, consolidate, and coordinate movement of Imported Ocean containers

·         Coordinate with Taipei office regarding space usage on carriers

·         Check status of shipments and ensure all holds released prior to discharge of container

·         Ensure that all containers are released from DC’s within the free days allotted by the carrier

·         Alert respective Distribution Center when delays expected and manage scheduling accordingly

·         Perform data entry activities in an accurate and timely manner, to ensure that the import database is kept updated

·         Review and submit import documentation to customs brokers for ocean and air shipments, and approve invoices from brokers, carriers, and truckers in a timely manner

·         Receive shipping documents from overseas factories and confirm accurate item, purchase order information

·         Work closely with transportation providers ensuring efficient and effective execution of defined processes. This includes obtaining shipping space confirming shipment ETA’s, reviewing routing, confirming shipping line, government agencies and port releases, scheduling delivery appointments, dispatching orders and confirming empty container return


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3-5 years of Import / Logistics or Supply Chain in a geographically distributed environment
  • Strong technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to provide accurate, thorough, and consistent information when accomplishing company initiatives
  • Microsoft Dynamics. Project44 or Terminal49 & Microsoft Power BI experience a plus
