We are seeking an experienced corporate development leader to work across numerous functions, including business development, fundraising, strategy, and operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Corporate Development is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role reporting into the Chief Operating Officer. The candidate will work in close collaboration with the leadership team as well as the broader R&D team to develop and implement our corporate strategy. The candidate must have extensive experience in business development, fundraising, strategy, valuation modeling, budgeting, and project management in the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the drug development process and a demonstrated track record of leading corporate development activities for companies at different stages.


RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Business development activities including partnerships and collaborations, M&A, search and evaluation of in-licensing opportunities, due diligence, and transactions

·  Fundraising within the investor community (VCs, crossover, and public investors)

·  Strategic assessments including therapeutic area competitive landscapes and disease maps to identify market opportunities, and commercial assessments of key programs

·  Operations activities including contracts, valuation modeling, budgeting, and project management

·  Demonstrate strong people skills, leading by example and working with teams to manage multiple projects

·  Represent the company both internally and externally, with both the scientific and business communities

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION

·  BA/BS required; strongly prefer graduate degree in life sciences

·  8+ years of relevant experience at biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies, working at one or more smaller, fast-paced biotech companies

·  Significant corporate and/or business development experience, with a strong deal sheet

·  Extensive experience in managing partnerships and collaborations

·  Strong understanding of the biopharmaceutical R&D and commercialization process, as well as knowledge of the industry landscape; rare disease experience preferred

·  Successful track record in evaluating market opportunities, possessing strong analytical and quantitative modeling skills

·  Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously

·  Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced work environment

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal capabilities

·  Energetic, resourceful self-starter with positive attitude and ability to work across the company at all levels, including with scientists and C-level executives
