Position Summary
The Production Lead is responsible for managing daily production operations while also serving as a fully engaged, hands‑on contributor. This is a true working‑lead role, with the expectation that approximately 50% of the individual’s time will be spent performing direct production tasks or backfilling operational roles as needed. The position supports manufacturing activities to maintain smooth and efficient workflow while also assisting with production planning, personnel scheduling, and ERP‑based order processing to ensure timely delivery and compliance with internal and external standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads and participates in continuous improvement activities, driving process optimization while actively performing production tasks as needed.
- Supports and contributes to production planning and scheduling, ensuring plans reflect real-time operational needs observed on the shop floor.
- Coordinates and adjusts personnel schedules to meet demand and backfills operational roles to maintain workflow continuity.
- Executes ERP‑based order processing, including serialization, and enters/maintains production data to ensure accuracy, quality, and traceability.
- Maintains compliance with company policies, safety rules, and regulatory requirements, reinforcing standards through daily hands-on engagement.
- Provides front‑line leadership to production employees, including coaching, development, and accountability while working alongside the team.
- Assists with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance-related actions, providing practical, role-based guidance grounded in day-to-day production experience.
- Ensures quality standards are consistently met, performing and verifying quality checks during hands-on production activities.
- Monitors and manages order timelines, WIP status, and workflow priorities, making adjustments based on real-time operational insights.
- Collaborates effectively with other departments, serving as an operational liaison and ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Oversees material readiness, verifying that materials required for production activities are available, accurate, and properly staged.
Qualifications
- Ability to drive continuous improvement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with at least 3 years of experience creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets, including data tables and pivot tables; working knowledge of SAP preferred.

- Ability to work on your feet for shifts of eight hours or more in a manufacturing or assembly plant environment
