About the Job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, mission-driven individual to conduct program outreach and enrollment to interested clients in the community. The Client Outreach and Engagement Specialist is a passionate people-person who will be the primary interface between Compass and our potential clients. Working primarily on outreach and enrollment, the Client Outreach and Engagement Specialist provides an aspirational foundation for clients in order to engage and support them in joining our financial coaching and savings programs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients who are interested in our programs
  • Implement a marketing and outreach plan, including postcards, flyers, and social media, to message the program to potential clients, with support from the marketing & communications team
  • Establish an aspirational, culturally competent, and client-focused message in all marketing content, orientations, and communication to clients
  • Conduct orientations and other outreach events. Field inbound inquiries from potential clients and screen for eligibility. Respond to client inquiries in a timely way.
  • Establish referral relationships with partners in the community
  • Deliver on annual program enrollment goals, with support from the Program Manager
  • Maintain knowledge about the elements of the organization’s core Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) and financial coaching programs
  • Record client information, inquiries, and pipeline information accurately and on time, with a rigorous dedication to confidentiality and data security protocols

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • Commitment to Compass’ mission and passion for working with families with low incomes
  • Proficient in Spanish
  • Cultural humility: openness to and respect for others’ cultures, identities, and lived experiences
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Outgoing, welcoming, and uplifting; ability to establish trusting relationships with clients
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Willingness to travel to other locations in New England to conduct orientations. Ability to work some evenings or weekends to accommodate orientation events.
  • Technical proficiency in Gmail, Microsoft Office, and/or Salesforce
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds


Preferred

  • Previous experience as a client in a Compass program
  • Strong relationships in the communities we serve
  • Access to a reliable vehicle

Additional Information

This position is based in Boston, MA and will be supporting clients in our New England programs. Required hours could include a combination of workday, evening, and weekend hours to accommodate the needs of our clients. Occasional travel to other Compass offices (Lynn, MA) and other communities may be required as our programs grow and broaden geographically.
