Director of Clinical Operations
JOB SUMMARY
This role is based at the Iambic San Diego headquarters. The Director of Clinical Operations will be responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of clinical operations within the organization. This leadership role requires strategic planning, effective management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of clinical trials and studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategic plans for clinical operations to support organizational goals and objectives.
- Manage clinical trial budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure efficient and cost-effective execution.
- Oversee selection and management of clinical research sites, vendors and partners.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, good clinical practice and internal SOPs.
- Build an efficient Clinical Operations group over time to support new studies and advancement of pipeline assets.
- Collaborate with other functional areas such as clinical research, regulatory affairs, data management, and project management to support the clinical development process.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs to assess progress and quality of clinical trials.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact the successful conduct of clinical studies.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, external partners and regulatory agencies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
- 10+ years experience in Clinical Operations.
- Experience overseeing biotech phase 1 clinical trials; experience with oncology programs is preferred.
- Prior experience managing direct reports within a clinical research organization or CRO

Salary Range from $153,000-$260,000 per year
