Marketing Ad Manager


Want to help local government leaders and residents across the country discover a civil place online to come together, over important topics, and move their communities forward? Polco is looking for a full-time digital ad and marketing professional to manage all of our digital advertising accounts, produce ad creatives, maintain our social media presence, and work with our marketing and growth teams on a variety of digital campaigns and communications projects to expand our reach in a meaningful way. This person would help successfully carry out various business strategies and initiatives of Polco. Creative persons with strong copywriting skills and technical experience with digital advertising platforms (including social media) are encouraged to apply.


Job Duties


Manage digital advertising

- Develop ad creatives including copywriting and image production

- Post and maintain multiple ongoing ad campaigns

- Monitor and report analytics

- Work with platforms like Google Ads, popular social media, partner and syndicate ads, retargeting, email newsletters and more

- Look for new digital advertising opportunities


Email marketing campaign coordination

- Contribute to writing, editing and publishing of marketing emails 

- Coordinate with multiple departments regarding email scheduling and automations

-Contribute to email marketing strategic planning

- Subscriber list management, maintenance, and monitor for replies


Contribute to daily, timely social media posting, management, and advertising

- Post creation

- Fostering engagement

- Audience development

- Relevant content curation

- Brand monitoring and online reputation management

- Social media advertising, campaigning

- Reaching out to both local governments and survey respondents (residents)


Basic digital media production

- Image editing

- Layout design

- Digital copywriting

- Ability to write compelling short and long form copy

- Editing/proofreading abilities desired


Contribute to both Outbound and Inbound marketing efforts


Contribute to content marketing engine

-  Writing or editing blogs as assigned


Contribute to digital marketing analytics and A/B testing, 

- help with gathering and reporting data as assigned


Regularly work together with Marketing and User Growth teams collaboratively


Occasionally representing Polco at conferences and staffing an exhibit table 

- once travel may safely resume in the future


Flexibility! 

- Assist with other duties as assigned (as a small team, we do a little bit of everything when it comes to marketing.)


Required Qualifications:


- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or other relevant field

- Minimum 2 years related work experience

- Knowledge of PPC and SEO marketing

- Strong writing skills

- Ability to edit and receive edits constructively

- Ability to write strong Headlines and other short form copy 

- Knowledge of AP style preferred

- Significantly detail oriented

- Excellent organizational abilities, including the ability to manage the relationships between multiple ongoing, related strands of work

- Strong communications skills, both internally and externally with clients, leads, and survey respondents.

- Working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube (for business)

- Working knowledge of CRM programs

- Basic understanding of digital media software, like Photoshop

- Willingness to learn new things

- Willingness to occasionally assist with or perform sales functions

- Ability to work in a team setting or independently when needed


Compensation and Benefits:


Marketing Ad Manager is a full-time, manager level position with benefits in an innovative company. Starting salary is $60K, commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive benefits package is provided for all full-time employees.
