About Planned Parenthood Texas Votes

Planned Parenthood Texas Votes (PPTV), is a statewide electoral and legislative advocacy organization, and political action committee (PAC).  The organization was formed to advance the mission of Planned Parenthood by promoting and protecting the work of the Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas.  The three Planned Parenthood Affiliates in Texas are Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, Planned Parenthood of Gulf Coast, Planned Parenthood of South Texas.

PPTV works to foster and preserve a social and political climate in Texas favorable to full reproductive health care access through legislative advocacy, community organizing, electoral programs, and leadership development in service to the mission of local Planned Parenthood organizations in Texas.  PPTV identifies opportunities for community activation and executes on statewide strategies that develop and engage supporters and volunteers to advance issues relating to reproductive health, rights, and justice.

PPTV’s theory of change focuses on engaging and empowering young people, women, people of color, and LGBTQ folks. These demographics represent the majority of Planned Parenthood patients, a significant proportion of Texas’ changing population, those particularly impacted by attacks on reproductive health and rights, and who are also the least engaged and represented in elections, government, and politics.

The Opportunity

At this pivotal moment in time, PPTV is seeking an energetic and strategic new Executive Director (ED) to provide leadership in advocacy and non-partisan electoral campaigns.  Opportunities for impact are immense in Texas: pro-democracy, expansion of health care access, education, and leadership development are some of the different areas where PPTV envisions their ability to leverage and support the reproduction rights landscape in an increasingly challenging state environment.

Reporting into the PPTV/PPTV PAC Board of Directors, the ED will be responsible for leading and leveraging the collective political power and voices of the Planned Parenthood entities in Texas.  The ED will develop a comprehensive, statewide approach to impact, public policy, field and electoral work (c4 and PAC), and identify and implement strategic goals, tactics, and work plans in coordination with affiliate public affairs staff.

The ED will lead a team of committed and mission-driven individuals and will advocate successfully and passionately on behalf of the staff of PPTV as well as the patients and communities Planned Parenthood serves.  With a commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice, the ED will embrace the importance of these initiatives throughout the organization. In addition, the ED will be an effective and flexible communicator, collaborator, and results-driven individual.

In addition, the ED will have had success in fundraising in various revenue streams to support the delivery of effective programming. As a spokesperson, they will represent PPTV through media appearances, speaking engagements, and partnerships with aligned organizations and coalitions.
