Role Description: Veterans in Residence (ViR) is a business incubator that provides Veteran and milspouse entrepreneurs and business owners with co-working space, local community, a national business network, and targeted support to grow their business. Veterans in Residence is a partnership of WeWork and Bunker Labs.

The Director of Veterans in Residence is responsible for overseeing the engagement, performance, and growth of the Veterans in Residence program throughout the country. The Director is responsible for the overall impact of the program, including the design, execution, management of budget, and program deliverables. They will contribute to the foundation of, and lead the growth of, the Veterans in Residence (ViR) program for Bunker Labs.

The Director of ViR currently leads a team of three (remotely distributed) who are responsible for executing the program nationally. The right candidate must be able to adapt in a fast-paced environment, eager for the challenge, willing to find creative solutions to achieve the right outcomes, and reflect the professionalism, ethics, humility, and culture of the team of military veterans and milspouses who are working for and with the Bunker Labs organization. The Director of ViR reports directly to the Chief Programs Officer.


Primary Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Directly oversee the performance and growth of the Veterans in Residence program by executing initiatives that drive value toward program objectives
  • Coordinate with development, experience, and marketing teams to ensure the sponsorship, impact delivery, and messaging all cohesively align according to Bunker Labs’ mission and values
  • Monitor each ViR cohort’s sentiment throughout the duration of the program, ensuring all members are comfortable, vulnerable, and willing to collaborate. Incorporate feedback into future cohort planning
  • Ensure adherence to program budget and long-term financial strategies which will effectively and responsibly allocate resources in a manner consistent with Bunker Labs’ mission and strategic priorities
  • Plan and execute ViR program showcases twice annually
  • Identify and monitor community metrics
  • Manage reporting that exhibits proof of grant delivery alignment to the ViR program offering
  • Oversee the consistent implantation of performance tracking, reporting, and metrics capture systems to measure impact of ViR program
  • Drive consistency in experience for all program participants
  • Capture, share, and celebrate success stories from our Ambassadors. Share ViR success stories with Bunker Labs’ staff
  • Travel is required periodically throughout the year

Type of Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership and management in a multi-layer organization
  • Highly motivated with some entrepreneurial accomplishments
  • Financial management and accounting, ideally in the non-profit sector including legal, compliance, budget and resource development
  • Working knowledge of startup ecosystems, entrepreneurship, general business operations, accelerator, and mentorship programs
  • Coaching and staff development
  • Familiarity with veteran service organizations and/or entrepreneurship service organizations preferred
  • Remote/distributed workforce management a plus
  • Military experience or military spouse a big plus

Salary Range: $85,000 to $95,000 annual.
Bunker Labs looks at compensation as a whole picture with salary being a piece of the overall compensation. Your individual salary will vary based on experience, education, and skills.
