Position Summary

As Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experience while managing farmers’ operating budgets throughout the life of their loans. You will review financial documents and other relevant information to create and update customized budgets that meet customers’ cash flow needs while maintaining compliance with underwriting guidelines and loan covenants. You will conduct borrower interviews to gain insights into their operations, ensure accuracy in documentation, and provide proactive support through regular check-ins. Additionally, you will assist with ongoing asset management tasks consistent with FarmOp’s servicing policies and procedures, including oversight and performance monitoring.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer service-oriented mindset. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Borrower Interviews: Conduct interviews to understand applicants' cashflow needs and help structure or modify their loan budgets.
  • Document Review: Review financial documents (e.g., income statements, rent schedules, pro forma budgets) and requests for invoices or payments to ensure expenditures are within loan terms.
  • Communication: Keep borrowers informed of loan status, provide updates, and assist with loan budget adjustments. Train borrowers on FarmOp's loan portal and other technology solutions. Maintain regular communication with customers, including proactive check-ins and updates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with loan officers and underwriters to facilitate efficient loan approvals. Assist with ongoing asset management tasks in line with FarmOp’s servicing policies.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies in loan applications or documentation and communicate resolutions to appropriate parties. Address and route customer requests for timely and successful resolutions.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to borrowers with professionalism and empathy throughout the loan application and servicing process. Educate customers on our loan products and process. Provide training and support for FarmOp’s loan portal and technology solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in developing and refining processes, procedures, and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.  Provide suggestions and feedback for further technological development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of accounting, finance, or loan processing experience required; agricultural lending experience preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and understanding of accounting principles; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office; experience with Oracle's NetSuite platform preferred.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and professional development.
