Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, handling accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. This position requires someone with strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring invoices are processed on time and payments are collected promptly.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and other balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Audit Support: Support external auditors during the annual audit process by preparing required documentation and ensuring financial statements are audit-ready.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide regular financial analysis to management, identifying trends, variances, and areas for cost savings or financial improvement.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard the company’s financial resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and other office productivity tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and correct errors in financial data.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations based on financial performance.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and find solutions to accounting issues.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is a plus.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the construction or manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • ERP Software: Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field is a plus or at BDS desertion.
  • At least three years of related experience required or at BDS desertion.
