Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Lead to join our team. In this role, you will prepare comprehensive take-offs, submittals, and material quotes, serving as the main contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise in reading blueprints and utilizing digital tools will be key to ensuring project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take-Offs and Submittals: Accurately prepare detailed take-offs and submittals based on project specifications and blueprints.
  • Material Quotes: Generate precise material quotes that meet the requirements of each project.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries from project initiation to completion.
  • Order Management: Oversee the ordering of materials, coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery and project continuity.
  • Issue Resolution: Address any project changes or discrepancies, collaborating with clients, BDS accounting, division managers, and the shipping department to find solutions.
  • Documentation Management: Utilize software tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, Excel, and MS Office for effective documentation and project tracking.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and team members to ensure seamless project execution and high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in project management or construction management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within the commercial construction industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, team-building, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly assessing situations and developing effective solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Project Management Tools: Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Industry Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or similar credentials are a plus.
  • Experience with BDS Products: Familiarity with doors, hardware, and related products in commercial construction projects is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and specifications.
  • Familiarity with estimating software and digital tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Division 8 (doors, frames, hardware) or construction estimating is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field is a plus or at BDS desertion.
  • At least three years of related experience required or at BDS desertion.
