Senior Accountant

Summary

The Senior Accountant will record and manage all the transactions in IQAir Foundation, our not-for-profit entity. This role will work closely with the Project Manager to manage and update our long-term project schedules. The Senior Accountant will also work closely with the Accounting Manager on other tasks related to our main company, IQAir North America, Inc.

Responsibilities

 

  • Record customer invoices and cash receipts
  • Record inter-company vendor invoices and vendor payments
  • Treasury/Banking functions including preparing ACH and wire transfers
  • Review AQS sales orders with the Project Manager to ensure accuracy and completeness before invoicing occurs
  • Review general ledger activity for accuracy and make adjustments as needed
  • Perform month-end closing related tasks
  • Reconcile intercompany balances that occur between in 2 different ERP systems
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts including bank accounts and deferred revenue accounts
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure the project schedules in Excel are reliable, accurate and updated on a monthly basis
  • Run and review the financial statements of IQAir Foundation
  • Prepare workpapers for external auditors
  • Prepare quarterly Canadian GST/HST report & file quarterly return
  • Submit sales and use tax backfilings for various States
  • Prepare various ad-hoc reports, as needed
  • Serve as back-up to Accounting Manager & Administrator(s)
  • Other duties as assigned

May be required to attend and participate in professional development activities both in and outside the company to stay abreast of new developments and best practices.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 8+ years of experience required with at least 4 years as Senior Accountant, Senior Financial Analyst or higher level position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of US GAAP
  • Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics and Quickbooks is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Excel & Word with a minimum 40 wpm typing speed
  • Intermediate/advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, Sumif, Pivot Tables, Data Tables, nested functions etc.)
  • Long-term project accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience with Avalara is a plus
  • Must be able to pass an Excel and general accounting test
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug and background screen

At IQAir, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a rangeThe base pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $100,000.00 annually and most new hires start at $80,000.00.  Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications and experience.
