Job Title: Paint / Alodine Technician Department(s): Paint
Reports To: Production Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary:
The Aerostructure Parts Painter is responsible to prep, prime and paint all production parts assigned to his work center. The Aircraft Painter shall prep, prime and paint aircraft, assemblies, and parts, within estimated time and in accordance with applicable HCOA, and customer work instructions without deviation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
· High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
· Must be highly detail oriented and precise.
· Experience and success working in a team environment is a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· 1 to 3, or more years’ experience performing as an aircraft painter or five (5) or more years in
an industrial automotive paint environment
· Must have a good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Skills:
Skilled in the use of tools and equipment.
· Brushes
· Rollers
· Spray guns
· Straight edges
· Viscosity testers
· Graining devices
· Wet and other thickness gauges.
Computer Skills:
· Basic
Physical Demands:
§ Medium to heavy physical effort; maximum weight – 50 pounds. Operator seeks assistance when lifting tools or parts weighing 50 + pounds.
§ Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, push, pull, and lift.
§ Bending, kneeling to paint parts.
§ Pushing, pulling and lifting to load and unload parts.
Work Environment:
· Extended hours in a full face respirator and the mandated PPE.
· Working n strenuous environment( Prolonged exposure of Temperatures reaching 135 F )
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
· Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.
· Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
· Surface preparation and coating methods and techniques including those used for getting special effects.
· Application of materials so that surfaces meet match, texture, decorative, thickness, and level requirements.
· Skilled in matching, tinting, toning, and blending coating materials and combining agents.
· Ability to read and apply directions that relate to the mixture, use, and application of various kinds of coating materials, solvents, and pre-coating agents, for example, paint, varnish, epoxy, Teflon, paint remover, alkali and phosphate compounds, pickling mixtures, and anti-growth agents.
Position Responsibilities:
· Operator reads a Mylar to determine the details needed to apply parts.
· Communicates work orally or through work MI’s which include application of protective
. coatings ensuring that surface coatings meet level and thickness requirements.
· Prepare surfaces by any of the accepted methods and techniques, and ensure that they meet aerodynamic smoothness, grade, and Patten requirements.
· Tint, tone, match, and blend coating materials, add various agents and combine coating mixtures to get the proper color, texture, consistency, and drying state.
· Apply coating materials by any of the accepted methods and devices.
· Work with little or no supervision.
· Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task.
· Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
· Perform work within allocated hours.
· Follow all safety procedures and specifications.
· Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
