Mindshow is seeking a skilled Senior Unity Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Unity generalist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our animation pipeline and delivering high-quality experiences.

 

Must be able to work onsite in Downtown Los Angeles, CA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including artists, designers, and producers, to understand project requirements and deliver innovative solutions

  • Develop and optimize Unity systems, focusing on animation, UI, audio, networking, rendering, physics, and pipeline integration

  • Implement and maintain motion capture systems, such as XSens, and integrate them seamlessly into our Unity pipeline

  • Troubleshoot and optimize motion capture data, ensuring high-quality animation performance

  • Implement best practices for code architecture, maintainability, and performance optimization

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

  • Actively contribute to the development of interactive experiences, from concept to release

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and propose new ideas to enhance our animation pipeline

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Unity development, with a strong focus on VR development

  • Expert-level proficiency in C#/C++ and Unity's scripting APIs

  • Proven track record of developing and shipping high-quality animation projects using Unity

  • Strong understanding of animation principles, rigging, and performance optimization techniques

  • Proficiency in programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing real time systems, motion capture systems and data

  • Knowledge of shader development and optimization

  • Experience with simulations and deformations in Unity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Maya or other 3D animation software

  • Experience working with motion capture systems, such as XSens, and integrating them into Unity

  • Experience with Alembic integration into Unity

  • Passion for pushing the boundaries of interactive storytelling and animation
