Mindshow is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Pipeline Technical Director (TD) to support and develop our production pipeline. This pipeline TD will work closely with Artists and our Tech team to design and improve workflows, build tools, and provide technical support. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of tools and workflows currently used in the CG/VFX industry and direct experience with digital asset management and pipeline tool development.
Responsibilities
- Assist in workflow solutions and overarching pipeline architecture from asset creation all the way through finished delivery
- Work with the Tech leader to create incremental pipeline improvements throughout productions
- Provide technical support for artists in production
- Maintain our existing code base and develop new libraries and tools as necessary
- Contribute to the design and development of our production workflows
Required Qualifications
- Experience developing tools and processes in Maya
- 3 years of pipeline and tooling experience for VFX or Animation
- Ability to work with supervisors and artists in a constructive way
- Tooling experience in Redshift
- Experience working with Shotgun
- Expert knowledge of Python and object-oriented programming practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong understanding of the CG production process, from asset creation to final compositing
- Strong desire to function in a technical support role
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with real-time game engine tooling, preferably Unity
- Experience working at a startup
- Experience working with Nuke and Deadline
- A love of animation
- A real interest in VR, real-time game engines (Unity, Unreal), AR, motion capture, and new and emerging technologies
