Mindshow is seeking a Head of Technical Production to lead and direct our Art, Assets, and VFX team. As a Technical Producer, you will work closely with our Heads of Creative Production and Physical production to determine their needs, work with our Art, Asset, and VFX team to make sure they can deliver to serve those needs on time and within budget. You will be in charge of managing the Art, Asset, and VFX team budgets, timelines, tasking, and articulating recruiting needs. You will be responsible for handling and organizing processes and procedures on the team and coordinating with outsourced vendors as needed. 

Responsibilities

  • Own the outcome - No matter the complexity or challenges, ensure that our productions launch, operate, and deliver successfully. Meeting the daily needs of coordinating your team's work are the basics. 

  • Oversee the schedule - Build and maintain project plans, schedules, and roadmaps considering dependencies across multiple development teams to ensure successful releases.

  • Communicate - Provide transparency on project status and schedule and risks to stakeholders and management in order to ensure they are properly informed of any impacts from upcoming releases. Communicate frequently with the rest of the production team and project leads on project status, risks, and opportunities.

  • Learn the tech - understand Mindshow’s unique technology and pipeline. You will need to get into the headset and meet with all teams to get a fully rounded understanding.

  • Ensure the team has the best organizational structure, processes, and practices that allow them to produce high quality work efficiently and on time.

  • Work with Pipeline director to identify and implement systems and processes to improve efficiency.

  • Identifying risks and issues, and plan for mitigation in order to reduce the impact on the content, schedule, and/or quality.

  • Ensuring to track the progress of the team and initiate contingency plans.

  • Determine human resource needs, set up and follow up on the hiring and assignment plans.

  • Create and maintain project schedules and milestone documentation, monitoring the progress of milestones and specific tasks against those schedules.

  • Lead regular meetings with the project teams, individuals, and business partners to discuss status, resolve issues, and share information.

  • Mentor and grow junior team members and help with their career development.

  • Ensure a common understanding and agreement on project scope and goals and on any subsequent changes.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a senior production role where you've managed cross-functional teams in the creation and delivery of complex projects.

  • Previous experience as a producer for an art, animation, or VFX team at an animation, commercial, or game studio.

  • Deep understanding of the CG animation pipeline.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience in an environment where you had to exhibit amazing problem-solving skills daily, viewing each new problem as an opportunity for success.

  • Self-starter, you approach challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution.

  • Have the ability to communicate with varying levels of stakeholders, within your team and throughout the company.

  • Ability to adapt and be effective in new situations within a highly dynamic environment.

  • Strong ability to manage and partner with high-level creative personalities from both animation and live-action backgrounds.

  • Adaptability and resilience to quick changes in priorities, technology, tools, and workflow.

  • Willingness to approach a variety of tasks with a positive hands-on attitude.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; providing candid, helpful, and timely feedback to colleagues.

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of production tracking and asset management required (Shotgrid software knowledge preferred).
