Position Summary:

The Systems Analyst reports to the Manager of Systems Analysis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Manager in daily activities such as data extraction for migrations, sales engineering, and Health Data Archiver (HDA) support tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Connects remotely to customer machines to analyze database, document and system structures of an application
  • Provides Health Data Archiver (HDA) application support as needed by customers
  • Ensures that information is shared with the appropriate staff in a timely manner
  • Collaborates with Data Integration Specialists to ensure data that is necessary to complete a given project is available
  • Acts as a technical resource for the Project Management team
  • Assists the Manager of Systems Analysis in day to day tasks around data prep and miscellaneous tasks
  • Performs deep analysis of systems contained in multiple applications and platforms
  • Extracts data from multiple application types and platforms and loads it into HHIT’s preferred database engine, MS SQL Server
  • Performs file transfers and moves data to and from customers via secure FTP or external encrypted hard drives
  • ODBC, OLE DB driver, and linked server configuration
  • Assists in the care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment and supplies
  • Participates in committees as requested
  • Completes other job-related assignments and special projects as directed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of various DBMS platforms (i.e., Informix, DB2, Sybase, Oracle, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of networking, VPN, and related applications (i.e., RDP, Cisco VPN, Putty, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SSIS, visual studio, basic data structures, PowerShell, bash or batch scripting, and one or more computer languages a plus
  • Knowledge of databases and flat file systems
  • Familiar with MS SQL server imports and linked servers
  • Knowledge of structured query language
  • Familiar with OS: Windows, Unix, Linux AS400
  • General database structure knowledge
  • Familiar with ETL processes
  • Experience with file transfer protocol
