The Operations Team of Beyond Meat™ is looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in El Segundo, CA. Position Description

In this full time position, the candidate will be responsible for managing the quality program for a production facility, a co-manufacturer,  and supporting corporate quality systems development and continuous improvement. This role will be supported by a QA team at our main production facility.  This individual will be accountable for core food safety & quality related to the following, and time balanced to accommodate business needs: 

Manufacturing Facility:

·    Ensuring food safety & legal compliance with internal and regulatory bodies food safety standards

·    Finished Product Quality, Hold & Release

·    Maintaining EMP, SSOP SOP, HACCP, Receiving & Release programs

·    Training Production Personnel & QA Leads on related food safety roles

Co-Packer Facility:

·    Ensuring food safety & legal compliance with internal and regulatory bodies food safety standards

·    Maintain EMP, SOP, SSOP, HACCP, Receiving & Release programs

Corporate Quality:

·    Develop corporate food safety & legal compliance programs (including but not limited to: EMP, Surveillance, NPD HACCP, Vendor Assurance, Internal Audits, etc) that build upon current SQF program

·    Work with Regulatory, Food Safety and Microbiological consultants to develop ‘best in class’ corporate standards to be applied across all production and R&D facilities

·    Attend industry educational seminars and events to understand ‘best in class’ practices and standards and become the team expert on food safety & quality

·    Support greater quality team in 3rd party certification (SQF, Kosher, Non-GMO Project, GIG, Vegan Action)

·    Support corporate consumer contact program


Requirements & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor degree in Food Science, or related science.

Travel: up to 25%



·    Food/Beverage industry experience (at least 5 years)

·    Managing a remote team

·    Experience qualifying and managing ingredient suppliers and co-packers

·    Familiarity with FDA regulations and tools

·    Nutritional analysis and Genesis software

·    Experience with managing 3rd party certification (Non-GMO Project, Gluten Free, Vegan)

·    Superior MS Excel skills and proficiency in statistical analysis software

·    Strong negotiation skills

·    Strong execution orientation

·    Facility Quality Management (at least 5 years)

·    Exposure to International (non-US) food/beverage business

·    Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills

·    Superior verbal and written communication skills

·    Strong collaboration with and the ability to gain engagement from facility leaders, supervisors, and operators to solve problems

·    Strong influence management skills; ability to work with all facility functions and all levels in a collaborative and positive way
