Albert Uster Imports, Inc. (“AUI”) is a privately held gourmet food company headquartered in the Washington, DC area (Gaithersburg, MD) with warehouse locations in Kansas City, Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Gaithersburg. ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Assistant provides support to the purchasing team with database maintenance and administrative processes, coordination of material requisition and purchase orders, and interface with suppliers and cross-functional departments. The assistant will assume reporting responsibilities that support the team and its activities.

 

This position is expected to report to AUI Fine Foods’ Gaithersburg, MD headquarters.   As a response to the pandemic, AUI Find Foods’ office employees have transitioned to a hybrid working schedule, requiring employees to report in-person Monday through Wednesday, with the option to telework on Thursday and Friday each week. Due to the collaborative, cross-functional nature of the organization, employees at the Gaithersburg office are required to work in-person for the abovementioned days, outside of any People & Culture-approved disability accommodation request.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate purchase orders as requested by the facility.
  • Assist with the order confirmation approval process.
  • Close out the purchasing orders and submit documentation to the Accounts Payable department.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies.
  • Place orders for operating supplies, receive PO, and submit packages to accounting.
  • Track orders that have been placed.
  • Generate departmental reports.
  • Support team with data entry for transfers incl. shipping and receiving systemically.
  • Donations/disposal data entry and record keeping.
  • Electronic recordkeeping of import files.
  • Miscellaneous purchasing, inventory, and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Item and vendor set-up in GP.

 


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft products, especially Excel.
  • Ability to interpret and effectively execute upon a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 30lbs.

Preferred

  • Minimum of two years’ experience with purchasing, receiving or accounting preferred  
  • Strong organizational skills and time management.


 

SALARY RANGE

AUI hires exceptional people to perform a wide variety of important functions that contribute to the success of the Company. One of the ways Roland Foods does that is through a competitive compensation package. The base salary for this role will be $50,000 - $55,000

This role is bonus eligible.

Based on your qualifications, previous experience, and transferrable skills, the Company will determine at its sole discretion, the salary offered.
