Job Summary:
CCCS is seeking a dynamic and effective Human Resources Manager to execute all aspects of the HR-cycle. This position is full-time and on-campus in Walnut Creek, CA.
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and ensuring all HR functions are executed effectively and in alignment with the school’s strategic goals. This role manages the administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs, while fostering a compliant, supportive, and positive workplace culture. The HR Manager collaborates closely with the Leadership Team to provide guidance on personnel matters, supports staff across all levels, and serves as the primary point of contact for benefits administration, compliance, and employee-related issues.

Maintain and update employee data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

Develop and manage systems for organizing and monitoring HR and personnel records.

Track and report on HR metrics by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including job postings, candidate communication, and interview coordination.

Prepare offer letters and new hire documentation.

Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process, including new hire orientations and exit procedures.

Create and distribute onboarding materials to ensure a consistent and engaging experience.

Serve as a resource to employees and management on HR policies, procedures, and benefit-related inquiries.

Foster a positive workplace culture by supporting effective communication and conflict resolution.

Provide strategic advice to the Leadership Team on personnel matters, including performance and behavior issues.

Collaborate with the Leadership Team to align workforce management with the strategic priorities of the Head of School.

Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and annual Open Enrollment.

Serve as the primary point of contact with benefits providers and brokers.

Manage and track Leave of Absence (LOA) requests, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Coordinate and manage worker’s compensation claims and ergonomics programs to reduce risk and support employee well-being.

Ensure adherence to all employment laws, HR regulations, and internal policies.

Maintain, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook.

Regularly review and update job descriptions and internal HR documentation.

Track required training and compliance for staff.

Coordinate the annual employee performance review process.

Support the development and implementation of programs that enhance employee growth, engagement, and retention.

Participate in staff and administrative meetings, offering HR insight and contributing to strategic planning.

Collaborate with the Leadership Team to evaluate and implement policy changes in alignment with the school’s goals.

Support the development of HR programs and initiatives that drive organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.

Evaluate and improve HR procedures to minimize legal and regulatory risks.

Ensure discretion and confidentiality in all HR matters.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree required with a concentration in Human Resources or a related field

Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a HR generalist or manager role; experience working with non-profit organizations preferred.

Human Resources related certifications, and special training is a plus.

Prior leadership experience desired.

Proficient in HRIS platforms, with prior experience in TriNet.

Proficient in utilizing Google Workspace tools, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms, for document creation, data management, presentations, and form-based workflows.

Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate complex topics clearly and empathetically.

Compensation range $65,000 - $75,000/annually, commensurate with experience & education
