The Publisher Desk is currently seeking a Managing Editor to join our team at MixedMartialArts.com - The Underground. This is a remote working position.


What we're looking for is a managing editor with a fresh eye and the experience of elevating a good cut to a great one. A seasoned editor who’s socially-oriented and has linguistic flair. The UFC is the main vertical you'd be working on every day while dabbling in other MMA leagues. Passion and knowledge of the MMA - the fighters, the events, the rumors - is critical to the role. 


Responsibilities

  • Create a range of for the MMA to previews, takeaways, breaking news, rumors, and speculation.

  • Collaborate with the team on content schedules from idealization to production to final delivery

  • Post relevant content to our social channels and engage with The Underground  audience on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media 

Skills

  • Five years in a high paced sports environment

  • Experience working on high profile content for the UFC, Bellator

  • Possess a solid sense for storytelling

  • Knowledge of delivering to social media platforms such as Twitter & Facebook

  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and time management skills

  • Self-motivated and willing to take initiative with the ability to work independently

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts as the stories we tell aren't always told during bankers' hours, or in a 40-hour workweek - you've got to be all in. We’re covering events at nights and on weekends
