The McCarton Foundation is a non-profit organization on a 20-year mission to bring exceptional treatment and services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. In fall of 2018 the McCarton Foundation opened their newest Bronx Center - an Early Intervention agency providing center-based and home-based services in ABA, Speech and Occupational Therapies to young children at no cost to families.


Job Description

The Service Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that every child and their families receive or have access to services that they are eligible as authorized under the Early Intervention Program. Working with our Early Intervention Team and under the direct supervision of the EI Manager, the Service Coordinator will work with each individual child’s Individualized Family Service Plan to ensure families receive the services and supports needed and that their rights to services are protected. 



Key Responsibilities

  • Assist parents in obtaining access to services, including making referrals to other programs

  • Coordinate Early Intervention services and other services that the child may need or may be receiving;

  • Facilitate and participate in the development, review, and evaluation of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs);

  • Ensure services are provided in a timely manner; 

  • Oversee the ongoing process that involves coordinating the provision of Early Intervention services, and other services.

  • Inform families of their rights and procedural safeguards;

  • Facilitate the timely delivery of available services and continuously seek the appropriate services and situations necessary to benefit the development of each child being served for the duration of the child's eligibility through the Early Intervention Program. 

  • Facilitate the development of a transition plan to CPSE, preschool and other services.

  • Collaborate with diverse team of administrators and therapists and educational professionals. 

  • Maintain compliance with regulations by the Bureau of Early Intervention and Department of Health.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  •  Passion for our mission in helping children reach their full potential and core values.

  •  Previous experience in Early Intervention is highly desired

  • Ability to manage time efficiently including perform outreach while maintaining extensive documentation 

  • The ability to effectively communicate to providers, families and public agencies

  • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English desired

  • Bachelor's Degree in a health or human service field including psychology, social work, special education, early childhood development, or other related licensed healthcare profession


  • As required under Early Intervention Program regulations, providers of service coordination service must participate in the introductory service coordination training session sponsored by the Department of Health
