Positioned at the front desk, the Receptionist is responsible for the first and last impression that each parent and child has with our organization. This position requires a balance between providing outstanding customer service and support to families while also maintaining a commitment to privacy and honesty.
Organized and proactive, you'll help maintain the common areas while being vigilant for potential hazards, unsafe situations, or suspicious persons. You demonstrate proficiency with technology and a willingness to learn. Duties entail extensive use of digital communication platforms including Slack, Google Workspace, and phone.
In addition to working with administrative staff, you'll also be working alongside the clinical and educational departments, including therapists in disciplines such as ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Program Administrator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring front-end operations run efficiently and safely, helping us best serve our children and families. Your responsibilities may include:

Acting as the primary point of contact for families, visitors, and service providers, creating a welcoming, supportive environment.

Performing a range of administrative tasks, such as managing phone calls, maintaining records, handling mail, and processing deliveries.

Assisting with daily transitions for children, including coordinating with transportation vendors and ensuring smooth arrival and departure routines.

Communicating with clinical and educational teams to relay important information, updates, and any necessary adjustments.

Maintaining a safe, organized, and confidential environment, which may include assisting with fire drills, following safety protocols, and adhering to privacy regulations.

Supporting various documentation, sign-in procedures, and general operational processes to keep front-end functions running smoothly.
Requirements

Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. College coursework in administration, medical services, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Experience in Early Intervention or a similar field is preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in spreadsheet creation and management, along with familiarity using digital tools such as Google Workspace and Slack.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong organizational abilities, effective communication, and the capacity to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Work Ethic and Adaptability: Proven ability to follow through on tasks, meet deadlines, and receive and implement constructive feedback.

Physical Requirements: Capability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, reach, and climb stairs as needed.

Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and sound judgment, with the ability to respond effectively to varying situations.

Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.

Other: Must pass a background check in order to work with children.
Salary and Benefits

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year.

Schedule: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, full-time, 12-month position.

The McCarton Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing exceptional treatment and services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. We believe in the potential of every child with developmental disabilities and strive to help them reach their full potential. Our McCarton Integrated Model combines speech and language therapy, fine and gross motor therapy, sensory integration therapy, socialization with peers, developmental play skills, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy.
