About McCarton

We believe in the ability that exists within every child who has autism, and that all children deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The McCarton Foundation is a non-profit organization on a mission to bring exceptional treatment and services to children with autism. Over the past two decades we’ve transformed the lives of thousands of children from around the globe through the McCarton Center for Developmental Pediatrics, the McCarton School for children with autism, and the Children’s Academy for children with speech and language learning delays.

We utilize the McCarton Integrated Model, which combines speech and language therapy, fine and gross motor therapy, sensory integration therapy, socialization with peers, developmental play skills and applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy.

Now the McCarton Foundation will begin providing services for infants and toddlers diagnosed with autism in our new facility, The McCarton Achievement Center in the West Farms area of the Bronx. Our new center will provide services to young children at no cost to families through the Early Intervention Program. We are excited to be able to bring our exceptional method of treatment to children from low-income families in our city’s most underserved communities.

Job Description

McCarton Center Bronx is looking for experienced and state-certified classroom teachers to teach in our ABA Classrooms, Global Delay groups, and socialization groups which integrate children with ASD with typically-developing peers. In these classrooms, we serve infants and toddlers age 0-3 that have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as other global delays.

Children in our autism program will receive 1:1 highly individualized ABA instruction with goals that are child-specific based on thorough assessment, ongoing data collection, and data-driven decision making. Teaching methods used in this classroom include applied verbal behavior, discrete trial instruction, and a multidisciplinary team consisting of speech therapists, occupational therapist, and a licensed psychologist providing additional therapeutic support.

Our Socialization Group integrates typically-developing children with the children with autism, and aims to improve the social and symbolic play skills of children with autism. In addition to addressing skill deficits, this group also emphasizes developing the intrinsic desire to play.

Our Global Delays Group is a social group for children who need less support than those enrolled in our autism program. This group’s focus will be different for each of the four daily sessions, with curriculum being developed by our special educators, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists.
