Responsibilities and Duties of Early Intervention Classroom Teachers:
Implement programs based on the science of applied behavior analysis, speech and language pathology, and occupational therapy
Conduct intake and ongoing assessments of students
Collect data on child’s progress, behaviors, and performance
Conduct group activities and group instruction
Participate in implementation of behavior intervention plans
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
Supervise/train teaching assistants, student teachers, and interns
Conduct daily/weekly observations for aids, student teachers, and interns
Participate in staff meetings and staff training sessions
Complete progress report for parent-teacher meetings
Qualifications,Skills, and/or Experience of Candidates for the Classroom teacher:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
New York State Certified Special Education Teacher (Birth-2nd Grade certified) a plus
Relevant ABA Experience a big plus
Certified Teacher for Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) a plus
Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Early Intervention (EI) a plus
Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
