Summary/Objective
The Benefits Administrator is directly responsible for supporting the Client Manager with the day to day benefit administration for their clients as well as assist client renewals and reworks. This includes working one on one with clients, updating documentation, and day to day operations. The Benefits Administrator will work closely with EDI teams and the Client Manager to research and resolve discrepancies and concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as a point of contact for clients and responds to the day to day administrative requests from client and internal partners.
- Maintains positive response time (standard 24-48 Hours) to all clients and internal inquiries along with timely follow through with resolution.
- Completes daily tasks and is responsible for identifying trends and concerns to work through with the Client Manager.
- Supports call center with client specific training, escalations and resolution.
- Assists in updating requirement documents for system builds and self-service sites (this includes benefit class grids, rates, site verbiage and documents, system access, etc.).
- Support and lead renewal builds, including administrative sites, self-service and EDI Files.
- Test administrative and self-service sites, track and monitor changes, and demonstrate sites to client and broker.
- Document and preform processes necessary to meet all deliverables outlined in the Benefits Administrator guide for each client.
- Present, demonstrate, and train both internal and external customers on administrative and self-service site for open enrollment demonstrations.
- Research client escalations; provide support to client, carrier, vendor and internal team members from the initial contact through resolution.
- Continuously look for ways to provide process improvements for the delivery of service to clients.

Required Qualifications
- General Knowledge, Experience, Technical, and Problem Solving Skills

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
- Experience in Excel utilizing basic functionality, filter, sort, VLOOKUP, and simple formulas
- Previous health and welfare knowledge is a plus
- Strong analytical skill-set and ability to use data to define and resolve issues

Minimum Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or related experience in business, preferably in Client Service
- 2 years demonstrated client support preferably in the group benefits industry or other related experience
Work Environment
- The work is typically performed in a normal office environment on site at Benefit Harbor. Some extended hours may be required. (Offices are currently closed due to COVID; work is home based until offices reopen)
Suggested Schedule
This is a full-time exempt position. General hours of operation are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm with some flexibility to support clients throughout the continental US. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required during peak periods.
