Salary: $24 – $28/hour, dependent upon experience.
Hours: 20 - 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday (daily schedule to be determined)
This is a hybrid position with one to two days required each week in our Berkeley, CA office.

This position will report to the Accounting Manager and assist the Director of Operations.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Conversion of AP invoices, expense reports and wellness benefits into pdf files and filed in their respective ANRF or ANR AP folders.
- Responding to vendor emails.
- Data entry of invoices and journal entries.
- Maintenance of the AP system in QB while transitioning into the MIP software.
- Routing electronic AP invoices for approval
- Filing electronic AP invoices into the electronic filing cabinet.
- Updating a weekly spreadsheet of AP invoices scheduled for payment.
- Downloading and filing monthly credit card statements.
- Creating invoices for sales orders and journalize intercompany transactions.
- Reviewing expense forms submitted by staff.
- Monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
- Monthly amortization of prepaid expenses.
- Support during annual audit.
- Make online or in-person bank deposits.
- Other accounting-related tasks as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
At least one year bookkeeping or AP work experience using Quickbooks, MIP fund accounting or similar software. General proficiency in standard computer programs and operating systems (E.g., Windows, MacOS, Word, etc.) is expected. Experience with Excel, including formulas and pivot tables, is required. Knowledge of general accounting, effective communications with vendors, managing virtual accounting files, adhering to the organization’s fiscal policies, performing bank account reconciliations, assistance with tax filings and other periodic reports and registrations are all expected. An Associate or Bachelors Degree in accounting is desirable, as is experience working within a nonprofit environment. We expect this position to start at 50% FTE with the possibility of increased hours in the future. Schedule and hourly rate will depend on work experience and skill level.
