Who we are looking for:

Edge computing is emerging as the new massively distributed frontier that blends the physical and virtual works, enabling our mobile developer community to solve problems in new ways and deliver new experiences not available before

We are changing the way service providers make their edge cloud infrastructure accessible to mobile developers who are building the next-generation of distributed applications. We are looking for an experienced Technical Publications Manager who will be responsible for building and developing a team of technical writers that will be charged with the creation and publication of the various technical documentation needs at MobiledgeX.

A good amount of your time will initially be spent developing, writing and publishing edge application deployment guides, best practice documents, and other end-user documents. In addition, we will look to you to build and manage a talented team of technical writers that can scale to meet the increasing demand for technical documentation.

This role is based out of San Jose, CA and will report to the VP of Product Management.

What you will do:

  • Build a strong foundational knowledge of MobiledgeX products and use cases
  • Complete high-quality documentation in a timely fashion
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to document new features and relevant technologies
  • Prioritize demands for both internal and external technical documentation
  • Produce high-quality, end-user documentation that adeptly presents technical concepts in a readable, easy-to-understand manner
  • Start off as an Individual Contributor & then help to recruit, hire and train a small team of technical writers that can scale to meet our documentation needs

What you need:

  • Experience documenting software and/or SAAS products
  • Experience working for a high-tech startup company
  • Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience writing for a wide array of audiences, including end-users and customers
  • A keen sense for translating technical concepts and features into publications that are organized and easily digested
  • A “whatever it takes” attituded to drive projects to completion
  • Proven success managing a team of technical writers
  • BA/BS or equivalent degree
  • 5-7 years of work experience as a Technical Publications Writer or Manager
