POSITION SUMMARY:

Palisades is seeking a Data Warehouse/ETL Developer to join its growing and dynamic team.

As part of the Data Management & Business Intelligence team, your core responsibilities will include managing and enhancing the in-house enterprise data warehouse, creating ETL/SSIS pipe lines to bring data from many mortgage servicers, vendors into our data warehouse, troubleshooting the daily data warehouse loading processes, promptly resolving any issues that comes up, recommending new methods to improve data integration processes and overall data warehouse operations to the Business Intelligence manager and team.

This is a small team and any candidate must be a team-player, able and willing to work on cross-over projects, able to pick up complex concepts and communicate effectively to both internal and external constituents. The position will allow the candidate to collaboratively work across the Company’s cross-functional teams (Business Intelligence & Data Management, Trading & Analytics, Asset Management, Capital Markets, Transaction Management, and Collateral Management) and to learn from the firm’s industry leading professionals. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, a self-starter, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to work under time sensitive deadlines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Managing and enhancing the Palisades SQL Server based mortgage data warehouse.

  • Creating, maintaining ETL/SSIS packages to bring data from mortgage servicers and vendors into the data warehouse.

  • Working closely with the business to transform complex business rules into technical specifications.

  • Monitoring the daily/month end data warehouse loading processes, promptly resolving any issues that comes up.
  • Helping with the performance tuning of SQL Server and the data warehouse.

  • Recommending new methods to improve data integration processes and overall data warehouse operations to the Business Intelligence manager and team.

  • Helping with data reconciliation of various sources and conforming them in data marts.

  • Contributing to defining SSAS Tabular Mode/cubes to serve various reporting needs.

 

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience with data warehouse, SSIS, SQL Server.

  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehouses and good understanding of Kimball and Inmon data warehouse methodologies.

  • Experience of designing, implementing, and optimizing data marts, star schemas, and good understanding of their related components, dependencies.

  • Able to create ETL/SSIS packages to bring large, complex data sets from various sources into our data warehouse.

  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve any issues with ETL/SSIS packages.

  • Experience with very large data sets, knowledge of ways tuning and optimizing the large table/data set performances.

  • Ability to effectively work with business users, accurately transform business definitions/rules into technical specifications.

  • Ability to deal with advanced problems involving multiple facets and variables in standardized or specialty situations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge and experience with cube is a plus.
