Product Release Manager

In addition to managing releases and leading cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will drive the definition and evolution of release processes and automation to optimize efficiency and quality while meeting the demands of rapid growth and operational complexity. 

What You Will Do

The Product Release Manager drives engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle to deliver high quality, enterprise software releases on schedule. More specific responsibilities include:

Scrum Master 

  • Drive Agile process methodology within scrum teams to attain predictable delivery.

  • Drive Agile practices within scrum teams including retrospectives, backlog grooming, sprint planning, estimation, and standups.

  • You have understanding and experience with a variety of Agile approaches including Scrum and Kanban

  • Work with Product Owners, Product Managers, scrum teams and stakeholders to align priorities and collaborate on a daily basis.

  • Hold the teams accountable to the process.

  • Track engineering progress against release schedules to ensure early and often communication for the status of the release.

  • Proactively identify risks and mitigation plans that maintain schedule integrity

  • Drive innovation and integration of new software development processes and quality initiatives into projects and activities.

  • Facilitate continuous integration/delivery within the release.


Release Management

  • Collaborate with engineering feature teams to plan and execute software development for complex software features.

  • Follow release planning and execution processes as well as manage release schedules and milestones.

  • Ensure product quality is maintained throughout the Automox product lifecycle, including requirements traceability, test suite tracking, and defect triage

  • Continuously improve release processes.


Required Skills

Qualified candidates must have a track record of successfully managing software features and releases from concept to new product introduction. Additional requirements include:

  • Experience as a Senior Scrum Master having lead cross-functional software development teams to successful delivery of products.

  • Experience and background working closely with Software Development, Quality Engineers, Product Managers, Product Owners and related roles in an Agile development environment.

  • Experience with program management techniques and systems such as SAFe, Phase Gate processes, New Product Introduction, and related systems.

  • Ability to coach and teach the basic principles of Agile to the Engineering organization and associated scrum teams.

  • Act as a process advocate to build and strengthen Agile methodologies.

  • Experience with Atlassian products including JIRA and Confluence is highly desired. 

  • Experience as a technical contributor (software developer, quality engineering, etc.) a plus.

  • Experience working on enterprise-class, system-level software.

  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with engineers and managers simultaneously.

  • Ability to understand the technical details of the software your teams are working on. You should be able to assess risk, challenge estimates, identify dependencies and ultimately guide the team throughout the software development.

  • Proven leadership capabilities with matrixed teams and the ability to drive issues to closure.
