What we are looking for:

An Engineering Assistant for our Reno, NV office. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Design and Engineering Team by completing tasks surrounding engineering documents and information gathering.

Our clients are contractors or end users supporting a wide range of industries including water / wastewater, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, mining, aerospace, and more. We offer a number of products and services to these industries such as:

 

  • PLC / HMI
  • SCADA / Integration Software
  • Thermal & Process Instrumentation
  • Custom UL Control Panels
  • Industrial Field Services

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Departmental Responsibilities

  • Review contract documents, customer specifications and requirements.
  • Input information into Excel worksheets for reference by Design Personnel, the development of engineering documentation: Electrical, Mechanical, Loop, Installation and Instrumentation, Network and Process drawings for submittal and manufacturing.
  • Review Engineered drawings for accuracy and log review in the appropriate Quality Checklist.
  • Assist in the verification of components for use in a UL listed control panel.
  • Gathering of component data sheets for use by the Design Engineering, Engineering, and Project Management teams.
  • Develop testing documentation for use by the Engineering team.
  • Uphold GTH processes and procedures as well as conformance to Quality Management System
  • Utilize software tools for logging time, monitoring budgeted hours and other as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Hard skills:

 

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as a working knowledge of Windows 10 knowledge.

Proficient with Adobe, i.e. extract pages from larger documents.

Understanding of industrial control systems and products.

Understanding of GTH drawing standards

Proficient in the use of Eview and various GTH document and quality control systems

Understanding of UL, NEMA, NEC (National Electric Code), NFPA, GTH and other standards as applicable.

Education, Experience, Knowledge:

  • Degree, certification or Current Engineering/drafting student in electrical systems, control theory, HVAC, or other relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical concepts including AC and DC power circuits.
  • Experience working in a team environment where regular communication with colleagues is required.
