What we are looking for:

We are seeking a Control System Technician for our Anaheim, California Corporate Office.  The Control System Technician position encompasses a proven understanding of process instrumentation, basic control system logic, motor controls, and BOM development. Project management includes customer service, project communication and the entire project lifecycle management from start to finish.  

Our clients are contractors or end users supporting a wide range of industries including water / wastewater, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, mining, aerospace, and more. We offer a number of products and services to these industries such as:

  • PLC / HMI
  • SCADA / Integration Software
  • Thermal & Process Instrumentation
  • Custom UL Control Panels
  • Industrial Field Services

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

  • Conduct end-to-end troubleshooting starting with power and logic and ending with the input and output machinery, equipment or instrumentation.  
  • Determine integrity of individual components such as control loops (ex: 4-20ma), instrumentation, process controllers, PLC hardware, control power, etc. to result in a quick repair for down equipment, processes or facilities. 
  • Calibration on various instrumentation utilizing handheld or PC based calibration tools and software for: (Pressure, Temperature, Level, Flow, water analyzers, Control Valves). 
  • Skilled with electronic control systems including microprocessor-based controllers, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes. 
  • Problem solving of field installation & design issues, by providing workable design alternatives by working with GTH engineers and end user staff.  
  • Reading complex electrical schematics, manuals, circuit diagrams, P&IDs, cause and effect drawings, wiring schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems. 
  • Utilize Project Management tools, software, and procedures including ClickUp, Procore, and Acumatica. 
  • Assist with projects and tasks associated with the installation of new control systems to include loop checks, instrumentation calibrations, onsite startup and client training. 
  • Educate customers on GTH products & services.  
  • Other duties as needed.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and systems. Strong aptitude for repair and maintenance activities. 
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD layouts, bill of materials, and electrical circuitry diagrams and drawings. 
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues. Issues may include testing, replacement or repair electrical systems including three phase or single-phase electrical systems up to 600volts, AC or DC motors, power supplies, variable frequency drives, servo drives, transformers, motor starters, proximity sensors, encoders, programmable logic controllers (PLC) & Operator Interface Terminals (OIT). 
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) preferred. Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC ladder and block logic. Ability to load programs or configure PLC’s, HMI, scanners. 
  • Advanced computer skills related to maintenance, service and configuration of electromechanical devices, instrumentation, and network systems. 
  • Ability to read and interpret Drawings and schematics. 
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in written form. 
  • Ability to operate instrumentation equipment and interpret test results; reason through complex problems under pressure; use power and hand tools; use safety gear and equipment; operate personal computer in LAN/WAN environment; troubleshooting plant-specific software programs; operate standard word processing, spreadsheet, database software; and operate standard office equipment. 

 

Education, Experience, Knowledge:  

  • ​​One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.​ 
  • 1-2 years related and progressively responsible experience.  
  • Strong electrical background preferred.   

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
