Business Analyst: Labor Markets & Education
Vemo Education: We’re looking for a business analyst to grow with us as we help shape the future of education. Our clients hire us to help them design and deploy income-based financing options for students. In this role, you will work with the program design and analytics teams to help design these income-based financing models. You will also play a vital role in performing and expanding the function of portfolio analysis for current clients. This job will require an understanding of labor markets and the education landscape. We are seeking someone who can perform well in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
Own the maintenance of existing program design models and, under the guidance of VP of Analytics, make enhancements and improvements to models
Support the sales team by providing modeling support for prospective clients progressing through the sales pipeline
Provide in-depth modeling for current clients as they implement new programs or improve existing programs
Support credit and analytics teams in developing standard reporting metrics and methods for existing portfolios
We’re looking for someone who:
First and foremost, embraces a passion for our mission to expand educational access for all Americans through income-based financing programs
Has experience working with data around labor markets, career paths, or higher ed metrics
Has exceptional quantitative analysis skills with the aptitude to solve complex problems with creative solutions
Possesses advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Has experience with SQL and analytics tools such as Tableau or Looker
Prioritizes well when faced with many competing demands
Loves being a great teammate; our team supports one another
Is flexible about work: we have ambitious goals with clients who depend on us. We respect your personal time but we sometimes have to work late to get things done.
Minimum 2 years of work experience
Advanced skills in Excel, quantitative analysis
3 years of professional experience working with data in higher education or labor markets; experience in a startup environment is a plus
