Prolacta Bioscience has a learning opportunity for a summer internship (between May to September). Candidate must be hands on, motivated self-starter with strong initiative. Candidate will assist research scientist, chemist, or engineers to perform laboratory assays, as well as activities to support analytical method development and new product process improvement projects.
This Internship will challenge your ability to think critically and creatively. You will learn and gain exposure to all areas of Research and Development. Over the course of this internship, you will be presented with insight into your career path with exposure to the long term strategies and day-to-day tasks required in this department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Support research and perform biological or chemical assays per the established procedures or guidelines (such as ELISA, SDS-PAGE, particle-size analyzer and others)
· Compile and analyze experimental data
· Support on-going product characterization, stability study and data analysis
· Develop and execute study tasks to support of R&D and/or Operations projects, including writing summary report.
· Prepare, ship and track samples to external laboratories or sites.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
· Enrolled or newly graduated from accredited colleges or universities with good academic standing
· Majoring in Biological Science, Chemistry, Food Science or Engineering (bio/chemical) degree
· Required: Senior or junior student
Qualifications
· MUST have prior experience with engineering, chemistry or biology laboratory
· Flexible with work hours, including some mandatory early morning and late-night shifts
· SARS-CoV-2 vaccination (Highly Recommended)

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
· Attention to detail
· Self-motivation, adaptability, organization and a positive attitude
· Good written and oral communication

Physical Requirements
· Must be able to perform duties within laboratories or clean-rooms, requiring to push, pull, and lift equipment up to 50 pounds while full gowned.
· Work in ≤ -20 degree Celsius for short periods of time to organize, retrieve raw and finished material from the freezer.
· Majority of time will be spent standing
