Job Summary

The Director of Advocacy and Government Affairs will be responsible for building and enhancing strategic partnerships with patient, parent, professional and policy organizations to enhance Prolacta’s therapeutic business objectives on the state and national level. The Director will identify and cultivate advocates and stakeholders to engage and align on issues of mutual concern that support optimal patient health and well-being for current and future markets. Reporting to the Sr. Director and working collaboratively with cross-functional partners in sales, marketing, public relations and medical affairs, the Director will incorporate cross-functional objectives and keep senior management apprised of all developments that impact the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic relationships with third-party organization for
existing and pipeline products (CV/Surgical), as assigned by the Sr. Director
• Help to enhance and innovate strategies that move our current premature products and future products to standard of care
• Help align federal policy initiatives with national third-party organizations
• Cultivate state advocates in priority states as outlined the Sr. Director
• Evaluate and discern opportunities and requests presented by outside organizations
• Assist field sales where applicable with critical relationships and educational materials produced by external organizations
• Communicate effectively approved company messaging and clinical material
• Assists with planning, implementing presentation and execution of Advocacy tours, educational events and employee town halls
• Conduct meetings with local advocates, AAP Executives, BF Coalitions to support our state and federal strategy. Galvanize letters of support and individuals to testify.
• Manage effective key ally development projects helping to engage sales customers in collaboration with CSSs, Marketing and Medical Affairs
• Communicate results to internal staff and management
• Showcase Prolacta’s commitment and leadership as “an engaged participant” in our collective therapeutic areas
• Represent Prolacta at Corporate Roundtables, National/Regional Conferences, Symposia and Exhibits
• Bring “the voice of the patient” to the organization through 3-4 town halls per year
• Briefs Senior Management on issues, potential threats or competitive activities
• Participates in training and clinical webinars to keep current on clinical acumen

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of seven (7) years in the biotech, pharmaceutical or healthcare field with at least three of those in the position of Advocacy/Alliance Development
• Understanding/working knowledge and or experience in Government Affairs
• Priority on the patient
• Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills
• Strong interpersonal diplomatic skills
• Excellent written and oral presentation/communication skills
• Existing relationships with organizations, patient advocacy groups and other
coalitions that influence our therapeutic areas a plus
• Demonstrated credibility, adaptability, innovation, leadership, integrity and strong
collaborative teamwork
