The Global Communications Director is a senior role responsible for Prolacta’s brand reputation and visibility in the marketplace. This leader is an intellectual athlete – someone who can be empathetic to all stakeholders and pivot from one to the other seamlessly, delivering breakthrough results with measurable performance outcomes.

 

This position is the primary owner for extraordinary communications, global brand management and integrated communications/messaging execution to capture global market awareness. This individual "owns" the company's brand and oversees all internal and external marketing communications, product positioning, and traditional/digital communication strategies to enhance the company's reputation, leadership, brand positioning and lead generation.

 

The person in this role will establish communications strategies, activities and tools to educate, inform and inspire key stakeholders. This person will be globally and digitally minded in their approach, supporting Prolacta’s strategic efforts to expand in markets outside of the U.S. as well as to connect with a growing number of employees, customers and donors.

 

 

 

 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

§  Plans and implements global external and internal communications strategies that are aligned with business strategy, key stakeholders, and global requirements

§  Implements communications plans inclusive of overarching corporate positioning, customer segmentation and business area tactics, creative and metrics

§  Oversees the processes to execute the brand vision, ensuring that brand content and image creation optimizes brand opportunities and leverages new opportunities

§  Establishes and implements best practices for corporate storytelling and solution selling content development for the team by tracking deliverables

§  Oversees the writing, production and distribution of corporate communications spanning: public relations, thought leadership, website, social media and associated materials

§  Develops and executes executive communications (keynote addresses, key customer meetings, etc.)

§  Manages the development and production of organizational communications best practices, processes, guides and templates

§  Ensures corporate brand guidelines are established, updated and adhered to

§  Determines creative and innovative ways to articulate the brand and its value propositions

§  Translates marketing strategy into unique and impactful programs across all geographies, regions and countries for commercial internal associates and external stakeholders across a wide range of tactics

§  Supervises the development and implementation of strategic communications initiatives that incorporate traditional and digital communications channels and platforms

§  Creates a compelling brand narrative and profit-enhancing collateral

§  Takes story ideas from concept to launch – creating themes that can play through PR, presentations, and able to personally pen a fantastic press release, executive keynote, etc.

§  Develops collateral material (and guidelines) that facilitate 360° communication of premier, high-value proposition and edge

§  Gathers, analyzes, and incorporates appropriate brand and industry research to ensure that communications strategies and programs resonate with and motivate the company’s stakeholders

§  Coaches the creative team on designing consistent and high-quality content, look, feel and voice for all content across all platforms

§  Manages associated agencies, contractors, etc.

§  Maintains current information about the public’s opinion of the Industry and the Company

§  Develops and maintains effective relationships with various groups whose acceptance or influence is of special interest to the company

§  Develops and reports on key performance metrics for communications programs

§  Formulates annual budget planning and tracks the success of communications financial goals

§  Partners with Commercial regional and product marketing teams, sales teams and corporate functions to ensure internal and external communications distinguish the company brand and that messaging is consistent across the organization

§  Facilitates processes/programs as needed cross-functionally and serves as a strategic business partner across the organization

 

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications

 

§  Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business, Journalism, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred

§  Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible communications experience

§  5+ years of experience leading media relations, corporate reputation and brand initiatives

§  5+ years of experience managing creative teams and driving execution; prefer management experience within an agency

§  Experience devising and managing integrated communications campaigns

§  Experience within both B2C and B2B, versed in traditional and newer ways to tell the company story

§  Superior professional writing and editing skills, adaptable to various styles of writing

§  Excellent verbal communication skills, as well as strong prioritization and project management skills

§  Knowledge of social engagement and analytics

§  Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with senior leaders across the organization

§  Ability to work well under pressure and deal with crises and unexpected events, agency experience is a plus

§  Tenacity for collaboration, execution and delivery

§  Proven experience working directly with business customers

§  Demonstrated track record in leading communications and change management programs

§  Ability to consistently demonstrate integrity, high energy, initiative, and self-confidence

§  Media savvy, proven ability to develop key messages as well as educate others on message mapping and communication strategy

§  Proven ability to create and implement successful processes, training and presentation materials

§  Demonstrated success at crafting communications strategy in partnership with key strategic communications across functions/geographies

§  Proven ability as a well-organized, detail-oriented manager operating in a fast-changing, demanding environment

§  Proven high-level of analytical, strategic, problem identification and problem-solving skills

§  Demonstrated leadership, employee mentorship, development and project management

§  Ability to evaluate and communicate ROI on communications programs

§  Deep understanding of strategic marketing and a proven ability to create and own a communications strategy – from concept to creation to execution – while working collaboratively across multiple departments

§  Direct and online marketing experience including SEM and SEO

§  Proficient in all MS office products, and experience with iMovie

§  Ability to translate customer needs and market trends into workable strategies

§  Ability to communicate messages in both short and long form with a keen ability to assimilate complex information and synthesize it into relevant, interesting and engaging content
