Job Summary

 

Prolacta Bioscience is looking for a three months summer intern (between June to September).  Candidate must be hands on, motivated self-starter with strong initiative.  Candidate will assist production supervisor or manufacturing manager to perform various production related projects, as well as activities to support manufacturing operation improvements like 5S, cell development, work flow optimization, time study, etc….

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Work closely with team leaders, supervisors, and manager to suggest and implement continuous improvement project ideas
• Develop and execute study plan or time study to support manufacturing operations projects which include writing summary report and/or final presentation.
• Perform data collection, analysis, and other activities relate to improving various aspects of manufacturing which can involve safety, compliance, productivity, efficiency, mistake proofing, capacity model development, Bill of Material (BOM), 5S, lean manufacturing, changeover reduction, cleaning improvement, etc..

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications

 

Educational Preference

• Student enrolled or newly graduated from accredited four year colleges or universities
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Preference: Senior or junior student with good academic standing.

 

Abilities Required

• Attentive to detail, analytical, and process driven with ability to operate in a complex or matrix work environment
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Good team spirit with a positive attitude
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Power Point, Word, Excel, Visio)
• Flexible with work hours which include some mandatory early morning and night shifts

Physical Requirements

·       Must be able to perform duties within clean-rooms, requiring to push, pull, and life equipment up to 50 lbs when full gowned.

·       Work in <20 degree Celsius for short periods of time to retrieve raw and finished material from freezer.
