Prolacta is the pioneer in human milk-based nutritional products for premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Prolacta believes that there is no adequate replacement for human breast milk and, as such, we believe infant nutritional products should be human milk-based. As a privately held, scientifically driven company, committed to improving premature infant nutrition, we are using human milk to change the standard of care in the NICU. Prolacta operates and/or owns milk banks that provide the starting material for the products Prolacta sells

 

Job summary

 

In this role, the IT Intern will be responsible for assisting the IT team in all aspects of developing FDA compliant IT systems. The IT Intern will work with business users, Subject Matter Experts (SME’s), and Business Analysts, to understand the use of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to support Prolacta’s business processes. The IT Intern’s primary responsibility will be to create documentation used to support all aspects of the Testing & Training phase for MES in the Software Development Life Cycle process. In order to excel at this position, the IT Intern will need to have strong attention to detail, good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritize with changing situations. 

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Work with IT team to obtain an in-depth understanding of the MES system, Prolacta business processes and the Software Development Life Cycle requirements and deliverables

·         Write quality test documents (e.g. Test Cases, Test Script, Trace Matrix) and aid in the execution of test scripts, and the tracking of software defects and inconsistencies discovered during testing

·         De-bug and root-cause software defects found

·         Update functional requirement documents as needed

·         Create training materials (e.g. Process Flow Charts, user stories, etc.) and translate software functions/features into a user manual

·         Update Standard Operating Procedures affected by the implementation of MES

·         Participate in the daily, weekly and monthly agile rituals

Job Requirements and Qualifications

·         Minimum Overall GPA of 3.3

·         Senior student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Systems Engineering

·         Previous internship, experience in a leadership role (e.g. school clubs), and/or other paid work experience

·         Very strong attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

·         Dependable and show commitment to what you will be doing

·         Proficient in MS Office including Power Point, Excel, Word and Visio

·         Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship

·         Position is primarily located in Duarte, CA. Will occasionally work from City of Industry, CA location.
