Job Summary

The professional in this role will manage the day to day offensive and defensive patent prosecution tasks for the company. This includes working with the Vice President of Intellectual Property and other members of the Intellectual Property team to effectuate the drafting of new patent applications, and filings with patent offices, world wide. This person will work with outside counsel to maintain the company’s docket and monitor deadlines. This person will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting the patent competitive landscape.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· IP preparation and prosecution

· Management of external communications with patent counsel

· Docket maintenance

· Maintain competitive landscape

· Liaise with R&D and other departments to identify new IP

Job Requirements and Qualifications

· Practicing Registered Patent Agent with at least 5 years experience

· Ph.D in a biological science

· Passion for babies

· Ability to produce and present clear, concise and professionally written communications and presentations

· Strong PC skills, MS Outlook, Word, etc.

· Ability to use patent searching databases, e.g. Derwent Innovation

· Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible when working on multiple projects simultaneously

· Strong critical thinking and decision making skills

· Strong business ethics
