The Lead Technician position is based out of Flagship Fire’s Palmetto, FL office. Duties include performing inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on special hazards fire suppression equipment, attached electronic fire alarm panels, other related fire alarm and explosion protection system products. As a technician, this person will be required to travel the state of Florida and be able to be out of town, on average, one (1) week a month, but there will be months where you may not be out of town at all, but others that you may be out the whole month. (You will always be home for the weekends)

 

This position requires you to work closely with, end-users, contractors and other Flagship Fire employees, including but not limited to operations, accounting, end-users, and construction managers. This position reports to the Service Coordinator and Company President.

 

This position is for experienced technicians only, I will expect this individual to be competent in the use of trouble shooting equipment and techniques.  You must be capable of working on Fike along with these other system manufacturers Kidde, Minimax, Vesda, and Janus

 

Qualifications Required:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

·         Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

·         Work independently with minimal supervision

·         Walking/climbing for 8 hours

·         Driving for up to 8 hours

·         Manual dexterity

·         Lifting/Pushing objects weighing over 50 pounds

·         Retrotec certified

·         Knowledge of test equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Digital analyzer, Battery Analyzer, Frequency meter, Decibel meter, Communication devices)

·         Understanding of series and parallel circuits

·         NICET in Special Hazards or Fire Alarm

·         Florida FASA Certification

·         Proof of OSHA 10

·         Knowledge of NFPA, NEC and ASME (NFPA 70 / 72 / 2001 / 12 / 12A / 654)

·         Manufacturer Certifications

·         (FIKE, FENWAL, KIDDE, ANSUL, FIRETRACE, CHEMETRON, JANUS, PROTECTOWIRE)

 

·         Additional Duties:

·         Prepare for daily service activity, including completing daily field logs and material usage reports.

·         Maintain a clean and safe work area.

·         Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with FFI work.

·         Wear appropriate safety equipment as required.

·         Properly secure all FFI tools and equipment at the end of each work period as to prevent loss or damage.

·         Will be required to travel statewide to meet customer and job requirements, work alternate shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and spending nights out of town.

·         Will be required to provide own tool bag and hand tools. The company provides for all major tools and specialty equipment.
