The installer position is based out of Flagship Fire’s Palmetto, FL office. Duties include performing installation and repairs on special hazards fire suppression, attached electronic fire alarm panels, other related fire alarm and explosion protection system products. As an installer/technician, this person will be required to travel the state of Florida and be able to be out of town, on average, one (1) week a month.

The position requires strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. This position works closely with the customers and other Flagship Fire employees, including but not limited to operations, accounting, end-users, and construction managers. This position reports to the Senior Project Manager and Company President..


Additional Duties:

  • Install many different manufacturers' special hazard and fire alarm systems (including Fike, Janus, Ansul, Chemetron, Cardox, Kiddie-Fenwal, Firetrace, Chemguard, Xtralis, Honeywell, FM200, Inergen, NOVEC 1230, ECARO25 or AFFF Foam).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
  • Prepare for daily installation activity, including completing daily field logs and material usage reports.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with FFI work.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment as required.
  • Properly secure all FFI tools and equipment at the end of each work period as to prevent loss or damage.
  • Will be required to travel statewide to meet customer and job requirements, work alternate shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and spending nights out of town.
  • Will be required to provide own tool bag and hand tools.


QualificationsRequired:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Knowledge of the following tools:
  • Conduit Bender (must be able to bend offsets)
  • Rigid 300 Machine
  • Basic electrical and mechanical hand tools
  • Knowledge of mobile and computer technology: (internet browsers, tabular and word processing programs)
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Walking/climbing for 8 hours
  • Driving for up to 8 hours
  • Manual dexterity
  • Lifting/Pushing objects weighing over 50 pounds


Qualifications Bonus:

  • Knowledge of test equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Digital analyzer, Battery Analyzer, Frequency meter, Decibel meter, Communication devices)

  • NICET in Special Hazards or Fire Alarm
