At Starburst, we are looking for a talented proactive and collaborative self-starter with imagination, creativity and vision.  In addition, we are seeking a Sr. Director, HR Operations, who is an original thinker, possesses the drive to achieve quick results, and has the capacity to assume increasing responsibility in a fast paced globally distributed startup environment


An ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong focus on continuous improvement with an employee experience and culture building mind-set. This role will oversee the creation, strategy and development of the HR Services globally.  The position demands a highly capable talent who has experienced success within a startup environment in a methodical approach. They will integrate systems and solutions to create efficiencies, provide effective leadership skills that can energize multi-disciplined work teams to respond to business needs and apply strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills. 


You must be able to be strategic as well as roll-up your sleeves and be hands-on with the strategy and implementation of:  HR Systems, Benefits, Payroll, Reporting and Analytics, HR Compliance, Process Improvement, Workforce Immigration, Performance Management, Compensation Review, EEO/AAP compliance, HR transaction processing, Document Management and employee relations. Champion compliance, continuous process improvement, and cultivate positive relationships with internal business partners to create a reliable and efficient HR operations function.


This leader will establish a partnership with the broader leadership team to support and enable processes related to the employee lifecycle as well as a deep partnership with Talent Acquisition.



Requirements

    • 5-10 years’ experience designing, implementing and maintaining HR processes to achieve high quality data

    • 3-5 years of management experience overseeing an HR Technology & Data operations team supporting multiple regions and countries

    • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a start-up environment, complex problem-solving capabilities, and ability to prioritize effectively

    • Strong business acumen that can translate company priorities to HR priorities and in turn build operational excellence

    • A global mindset with the ability to balance creating consistent global processes with local requirements

    • Direct experience working across different time zones and geographies

    • Develop and drive a long term strategy and plan of our HR Services organization globally while addressing short term support requirements

    • Drive strategy, evaluation, recommendation and implementation of operational efficiencies through streamlining process and look for opportunity to leverage technology to scale

    • Rich domain experience and knowledge of process optimization, automation, communication, continuous improvement, HRIS and survey implementation and development of key relevant metrics

    • Knowledge in developing analytics dashboards and reporting. Using analytical skills, provide concise, actionable insights to the team and leaders to drive business outcomes and identify trends

    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); highly collaborative with the ability to influence and explain complex and strategic concepts among diverse audiences, including key cross functional stakeholders

    • Willingness to drive results by rolling up your sleeves with a can-do approach to work

    • High level of energy, ambition, positive attitude and ability to work in high diverse team environment to deliver effectiveness and efficiency

    • Bring expertise on HR best-practices (including compliance management) while driving continuous improvement for a scalable and sustainable model

    • Create and maintain effective organization of responsibility, including training, coaching, recognition, workflow patterns, performance standards, delineation of duties and responsibilities.

    • Exceptional planning skills and ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously

    • Ability to deliver within deadlines and strength in facilitating change on a broad scale

    • Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situation
