As a Product Manager at Starburst, you will identify market problems to create a valuable product aligned with the company product strategy and vision. This is a cross functional role requiring you to collaborate with sales, marketing, customer success, product management, and engineering. You will lead coordination of all product lifecycle activities for your product, including developing the roadmap and strategy, gathering requirements, and driving development toward successful releases of your product.
Starburst is seeking an experienced Product Manager to work with multiple product teams on the Starburst Enterprise Presto query engine. These teams work on Presto creating features for data source connectivity, query engine performance, metadata management, product supportability, and enterprise security.
Responsibilities
Own the product management process for the Ecosystem engineering team
Engage with customers and partners; gather requirements
Develop product roadmap
Create requirements for engineering to develop product
Collaborate with engineering during development
Discover problems to solve in order to build valuable products and features customers will use.
Lead prioritization and development of Starburst Enterprise Presto product area features such as data source connectivity, query engine performance, metadata management, and enterprise security.
Meet with customers for feedback, roadmap briefings, and product input.
Collaborate with Product Marketing and Sale Enablement for creation of marketing material and programs
Develop a strong understanding of customer use cases and identify patterns to incorporate into product strategy and roadmap
Collaborate with other product managers, product designer, field team, support team, and engineers for input to the product roadmap
Create and use a data driven approach to product
Collaborate with teams globally across multiple time zones and operate in an Agile development environment
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
10+ years of product management experience
Excellent verbal and written communication
Proficient knowledge and experience writing SQL queries
Proficient knowledge in data warehousing, data lakes, and Hadoop
Location: Anywhere in Northern America, Boston Preferred
Preferred Experience
Experience with Open Source
Experience working with enterprise security requirements
Knowledge of Presto and adjacent open source technologies such as Apache Spark
