About the Role


We’re looking for a Sr. Content Marketing Manager to lead our content strategy. As the Sr. Content Marketing Manager, you’ll own the core functions of content marketing and customer marketing. You’ll build and execute on our thought leadership strategy, own the editorial calendar, and create exceptional content that showcases Starburst’s customers and product. You’ll partner with the sales team to ensure they have the assets they need to be successful. You’ll also work with our alliances team to identify opportunities to create compelling joint content with partners. We’re looking for an excellent communicator with a high level of comfort building content strategy and execution on content creation. This role reports to the CMO and is responsible for Starburst’s content and customer marketing strategy.


The ideal Sr. Content Marketing Manager has 7-10+ years of experience spanning content marketing and customer marketing for technology companies


Responsibilities


Content Marketing

  • Develop a deep understanding of Starburst’s value proposition and target audience and craft a thought leadership agenda that spans different content types - Thought leadership “pillar” eBooks, Technical white papers, and ongoing editorial calendar for our blog.

  • Over time, build a team of content creators that support our ability to address different use cases & industries with more targeted content.

  • Develop a strategic plan for partner content - identifying opportunities for joint thought leadership or market research that we can co-sponsor with partners.

  • Build & maintain a library of sales assets including solution briefs & other company overview documents.

  • Partner with demand gen, field marketing, and sales enablement to ensure the great content you produce is well understood and promoted. Monitor the effectiveness/ROI of content as it impacts leads + sales cycle acceleration.

  • Develop a program to get our great subject-matter experts out speaking on popular podcasts, and create follow-on content.

  • Work with product marketing to set our webinar agenda, and partner with demand gen to execute on a consistent cadence of webinars.


Customer Marketing:

  • Build & nurture relationships with customers to best understand how we’re helping them run analytics anywhere, with the goal of getting them engaged & willing to do joint marketing activities.

  • Build and manage an ever-growing library of customer storytelling content across video, case studies, and other forums to help showcase our customer success and support sales conversion.

  • Run customer give-back/thank you programs throughout the year to show our appreciation.


Qualifications


  • 7+ years of marketing experience spanning content, PR, and/or product marketing role

  • Very strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Committed to engaging with and delighting customers

  • Experience working in all content formats, including video and podcasting

  • Experience with pretty much every form of content distribution

  • A strong understanding of - and experience with - content measurement

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

  • Familiarity with a range of martech and analytics tools (Our stack includes Hubspot, Wordpress, Salesforce, Google Analytics)

  • Strong SEO skills - both from a content creation and a technical standpoint
