Events Marketing Manager
The Starburst marketing team is hiring an Events Marketing Manager who’s able to build our events strategy from the ground up, and roll up their sleeves and execute the strategy. You’ll be a critical part of a scrappy marketing team where everyone will do what it takes to make our events successful. This unique opportunity allows you to build the Starburst brand & awareness, while also building the open source Presto community. While your primary client is the Starburst sales team (and they’re a demanding bunch!), you’ll also work closely with our partners on joint field events, and the Presto co-founding team on Presto Summits and meetups.
As Events Marketing Manager, you will:
Research, scope, negotiate, plan, and execute all corporate event sponsorships & tradeshows.
Partner with sales leadership to ensure alignment with the events strategy.
Ensure coverage for our field reps via field marketing initiatives (exec dinners and other local events).
Plan & execute Presto Summits and Presto Meetups in partnership with the Presto co-founders.
Own the Starburst “speakers bureau” where you track calls for papers, manage our internal team of speakers to submit talks, and track & share speech acceptance with the internal teams.
Conduct pre & post event meetings with all stakeholders to ensure success.
Track and measure event marketing effectiveness and ROI.
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
5+ years of relevant work experience in corporate events, preferably in a high tech environment.
Proven success in event and project management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and truly own the event strategy, execution, and measurement of success.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask under tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills to ensure executive & team alignment.
Ability to travel to events as necessary (up to 30% travel during busy months).
