GrayMeta is seeking a Senior Accountant to support our financial and accounting functions. This role will report to the company’s Financial Controller to support the financial operations of GrayMeta. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of functions, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, cash management, financial risk management, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP.

Responsibilities

  • Finance
    • Assist in building and maintaining financial forecast models as needed for both revenue (by product) and operating expenses (by department)
  • Month End
    • Complete month-end close process in coordination with the Controller
    • Prepare month-end closing schedules
    • Assist in preparing timely monthly financial statements
  • Accounts Receivable
    • Coordinate with company’s Customer Success and Sales teams on billing and collections

    • Budget & Forecasting
      • Help drive the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
      • Develop and maintain a weekly, monthly and quarterly cash forecasting process
      • Cash flow forecasting & reporting
    • Accounting
      • Day-to-day representative for the Accounting department within the Company
      • Support and manage tax return preparation
      • Review contracts to determine timing of revenue recognition
      • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
      • Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel
    • Controls / Compliance

      • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
      • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
      • Ensure GAAP compliance and accounting best practices
      • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

      • Reports / Audit Support
        • Provide relevant monthly reports and analysis to Management on a consistent and ad hoc basis. Reports include account analysis and commentary. Provide analysis of trends, as needed
        • Support the Company’s annual audit process, including all audit schedules, samples and responses to the Company’s outside auditor.
        • Provide various analytical reports as requested by senior management
      • Miscellaneous
        • Additional projects and responsibilities as needed
        • Other duties commensurate with the title and position
        • Enforce the Company’s travel and expense policy when processing expense reports for reimbursement
        • Perform sales compensation analysis for review

      Required Experience and Skills:
      Our ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and deadline-oriented fast-learner, who is an organized, dedicated, hands-on team player with excellent problem-solving skills. “Roll-up-the sleeves” approach required. Must be comfortable with unstructured, dynamic environment.

      • Minimum of two years business experience, Big 4 experience a plus
      • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and finance practices
      • Experience in the hi-tech industry required with specific experience in a software/SAAS company preferred.
      • Advanced Excel skills necessary, including the ability to design and utilize effective spreadsheets. Strong analytical skills essential.
      • Proficient in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software packages
      • Experienced Salesforce user
      • Highly detail oriented, deadline driven, and able to work autonomously
      • Able to analyze and solve problems quickly and creatively with attention to detail
      • Experience in defining and setting up month-end processes
      • Able to remain flexible in a constantly changing environment, while demonstrating strong planning and prioritization skills
      • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
      • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
      • Experience with general ledger functions, the month-end/year end close process, and with creating financial reports.
      • System implementations and process improvements experience helpful.
      • Accounting degree or certificate a plus, CPA candidate preferred
