As the Associate Sales Development Manager, you will be the category expert by delivering category-leading presentations and by communicating opportunities for our customers. You'll work closely with both internal and external partners to champion outstanding working relationships with customers as well as working cross-functionally to develop the business. Providing extraordinary Category management results based on fact-based selling is the priority. You'll contribute category management support for internal processes and complete customer category reviews by utilizing category analysis, shopper insights, and other available analytic tools.

You understand how shopper behavior drives the category and will use this as the foundation to develop customer presentations, recommendations for new item introductions, and conduct plan-o-gram reviews.
  • You can strategize - Initiating and synchronizing our brand strategies and priorities with customer strategies for an outcome where we all win, execute new product initiatives accordingly, and determining the effectiveness of Pet Honesty and competitive promotions through post-analysis, are vital for the recommendations you make to the account.
  • You know the systems - Strong proficiency in Nielsen, IRI, Numerator, loyalty data and other customer point of sale systems is required so that we can provide reliable, substantial data analysis. You may utilize shelf management software and category expertise to provide recommendations for shelf placement for new items and existing products.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years consumer packaged goods category management experience
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing syndicated data
  • Sophisticated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Proficient with reporting systems such as IRI and Nielsen
  • Strong and proven leadership skills
  • Highly customer focused with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
  • Knowledgable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies
  • Previous experience in the pet category is desired, but not required
  • Willingness to travel as needed 


WORK LOCATION

 It is highly desired for this position to be located at our corporate headquarters in Austin, TX requiring you to live close to the office for meetings, etc. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees who work out of our corporate office can work remotely 3 days per week and are required to be in the office 2 days per week (Tuesday, Thursday). Consideration will be given to qualified candidates who are only available for remote work. However, travel to the corporate office will be required at least 1 or 2 times per month with compensation for reasonable and customary travel expenses.
